29 Owl Coloring Pages

Owls cannot move their eyes in their sockets, so they turn their heads instead, up to about 270 degrees. Most owls hunt at night, using soft-edged feathers that let them fly almost silently and ears so sensitive they can find prey hidden under snow. This collection shows owls in many perches. One sits in a hollow tree, another on a branch, a fence post or a rock, and others balance on stacks of mushrooms, pumpkins or a tall stump. An owl flies with wings raised, another carries a lantern, and some stand sideways, sit by a plant or rest in the grass. There is a face close-up, a happy owl with closed eyes, a baby owl and a cute owl too. Real owls are mostly brown, gray, white and tan with spots and bars, which helps them blend into bark. Snowy owls are white with dark flecks. For practice, kids can draw small V shapes on the chest to suggest feathers. The pumpkin stack page works nicely for fall.
