The word emoji comes from Japanese, combining e for picture and moji for character. The first popular set of 176 emoji was designed by Shigetaka Kurita in Japan in 1999, and the originals are now in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Today there are thousands of emoji, and the face with tears of joy has been one of the most used. This collection turns emoji into coloring fun.
