Ducks have waterproof feathers thanks to a special oil gland near the tail, which they use to coat each feather while preening. Their webbed feet work like paddles in the water, and many ducks can sleep with one eye open and half the brain awake. This set shows ducks on land and on the water. A duck floats on a pond, flaps its wings in side view, looks up, sits by a flower and rests in the grass. A whole duck family waddles together, and there is a front view, a face close-up, a cute duck and a fluffy duckling. Mallard drakes have shiny green heads, a white neck ring and gray bodies, while hens are speckled brown. Ducklings are covered in soft yellow or brown down. Pekin ducks, the classic white farm ducks, have orange bills and feet. Blue and green ripples around the floating ducks make the pond feel real. Simple ducks are great for toddlers, and the family scene invites counting practice.
