14 4th of July Coloring Pages

Independence Day marks July 4, 1776, when the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. Americans celebrate with parades, picnics and fireworks, and this collection brings those traditions to the page. There are fireworks bursting in the sky, a bald eagle, the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell, Uncle Sam in his star-covered hat, a patriotic parade drum and a hot air balloon striped in red, white and blue. A summer picnic, an ice cream treat and a puppy ready for the festivities add a backyard feel. Each image ties to a little history. The Liberty Bell hangs in Philadelphia and has a famous crack, the Statue of Liberty was a gift from France in 1886, and the bald eagle became the national bird emblem in 1782. Red, white and blue are the obvious choice, but fireworks look fantastic in gold, green and purple too. Coloring before a parade or while waiting for dark is a calm way to keep kids busy on a hot day.
