12 New Year's Day Coloring Pages

New Year's Day is January 1, the first day of the calendar year and a public holiday in many countries. The night before, people count down to midnight, watch fireworks and make noise to welcome the new year. The next morning is a fresh start, and plenty of kids and grownups set goals called resolutions. These free printable coloring pages capture that mix of fun and fresh starts. Kids will find bursting fireworks, clocks with hands pointing to twelve, party hats, noisemakers, confetti, balloons, a countdown banner and cheerful animals ready to celebrate. The bold line art works for younger kids with crayons and for older kids who like to add patterns with markers. Teachers can use a page as a back to school activity in January: color a clock or a party hat, then write one goal for the year on the back and collect them in a class time capsule to open in June. Gold, silver, deep blue and bright pinks make the fireworks pop. Print a stack for a family countdown party.
